2. I would suggest UFO: Alien Invasion (real-time strategy), Tremulous (a GREAT first-person shooter between humans and bug aliens), Scorched 3D (similar to scorched earth), OpenArena (Quake III for free), Nexuiz (another good first-person shooter), Battle for Wesnoth, and Glest, to name a few.
